Megan joined Takagi & Takagi in 2012 after many years of searching for that beautiful trifecta of ideal career criteria: practical, challenging, and fulfilling. To her astonishment, this artsy English major has grown to realize that her family’s finance and insurance business is all that and more. Megan has always been drawn to in-depth conversations that drive to the heart of why we bother to save and invest our money, how to use it in impactful ways, and what matters most to each of us at the end of the day. With a background in human resources, teaching, and non-profit management, Megan loves working with her team to find new ways of inspiring clients to set intentional, measurable goals, while also remaining flexible and creative in their life designs, so that they may feel confident and empowered. 

In 2020, Megan transitioned away from direct account management to become Takagi & Takagi’s Director of Business Development. She works on a variety of strategic initiatives, aiming to consistently improve the client experience, enhance technology and communication methods, cultivate partnerships, oversee employee wellness, lead community service and pro bono activities, and develop client educational materials, newsletters, webinars, and online content. Megan earned the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ in 2016, and also maintains securities licenses Series 7 and 66, along with Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance licenses. 

Megan enjoys singing, traveling, photography, opera, musical theater, camping, writing, and her monthly book club. She loves learning new things like French, guitar, meditation, and fly fishing. Megan sits on the NextGen Advisory Board for her national independent broker dealer Royal Alliance Associates, and she is the immediate past Director of NexGen and board member of the Financial Planning Association of Hawaii. She plans on writing a children’s book before she turns 40, and knows she is more likely to accomplish it now that she has declared it to the world.
